Project 8: Radiant Warmer for Newborns

Radiant Warmer

Problem Statement

Premature and low-birth-weight babies often struggle to regulate their body temperature. In many low-resource settings, access to advanced neonatal equipment is limited, leading to preventable deaths due to hypothermia.

Description

This project involves designing a low-cost radiant warmer system for newborns using Arduino. It includes a temperature sensor to monitor the baby's body temperature, a heater controlled by a relay, and an LCD screen to show real-time temperature and heater status. The system maintains a set temperature using a control algorithm and alerts caregivers if temperatures go beyond safe limits.
